Last April, nearly 600 K-12 education leaders joined us at the ASU+GSV Summit. Afterward, you told us you left inspired and energized. You encouraged us to further cultivate this community and innovation beyond the annual Summit, and in your feedback, you named a desire to stay connected, informed, and engaged.
We heard you. Welcome to the first GSV K-12 Bulletin!
As your Educator Community Team, our own experiences as teachers fuels our shared passion for ensuring ALL people have equal access to the future.
Each quarter we will:
Celebrate innovation happening in the K-12 ecosystem
Share tangible resources & learnings to support your impact
Serve as the connector providing engagement opportunities for you with the broader GSV community
As we get closer to ASU+GSV in San Diego, April 17-19, 2023, we'll also share additional updates, including speakers and experiences you'll find compelling.
In partnership,
Your Educator Community Team
Spotlight on Innovation
Building for the Future: A welcome message by Dr. Babak Mostaghimi, Ed.L.D., Gwinnett County Public Schools Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum
Return to normal. Rebuild. Address academic loss. Schools and districts across America are under intense pressure to “fix things” and to get schools “back on track.” But these pressures are causing many to revert back to what they are comfortable doing, i.e. “how things have always been done,” instead of moving towards how things could/should be done. If we are not cautious, we will miss the unique Churchillian “never let a good crisis go to waste” moment where we can refine what a better normal can be, build to a new standard of excellence, and go beyond addressing losses by pivoting towards future-readiness for every child.
AI in education has become more prevalent, and educators are hungry for clarity on how AI will impact teaching and learning. GSV Ventures has conducted a landscape analysis of top AI tools in each category and where we predict AI will drive the greatest innovation.
The STEM Ecosystem Briefing Book outlines how to address the nation's greatest STEM needs including increased equity and access in STEM education, stronger career pipelines in communities, early childhood education, and using STEM to improve lives.
GSV Ventures recently conducted a landscape analysis of the current and upcoming products, players and trends in K-12 math education. We found that small group tutoring and generative AI math are at the forefront of innovation and impact. These solutions help students achieve and are cost-effective and efficient.
